Emporia State has long been known as a trailblazer, especially in The Teachers College. Visser Hall is home to The Teachers College departments of Elementary Education / Early Childhood / Special Education, Instructional Design & Technology, School Leadership/Middle and Secondary Teacher Education, and Psychology. It also houses the Great Plains Center for National Teacher Certification, Kansas Masonic Literacy Center, Kansas Regional Reading Recovery Training Center, and the Office of Field Placement & Licensure. Students and educators can take advantage of the services of The Teachers College Resource Center as well as an ETS-certified Testing Center. Visser Hall is also home to the University Copy Center which provides printing services to the university and community. The Department of Counselor Education will be inside Visser Hall in Fall 2022.
